ALWAYS CHANGING: Road to the Show adapts to your decisions

Players had previously complained that the game didn't even seem to notice or care how you'd performed, and that was changed for MLB The Show 21.

Early decisions can be made by the player about what team you want to be drafted by, whether you're interested in being a two-way player or would rather focus on one position, and the game's in-game podcast will be different based on your decisions.

Ballplayer

This year, your create-a-player for Road to the Show filters through the new Ballplayer mechanic in MLB The Show 21.

CREATE A PLAYER: Make your Ballplayer however you want

You can access this by heading to the top left corner of the main menu, and you can then customize the appearance and details of your Ballplayer.

This won't be exclusive to Road to the Show, as your Ballplayer can also be taken into Diamond Dynasty once they're ready to beef up your Ultimate Team.

Loadouts

One of the new mechanics introduced in MLB The Show 21 is Loadouts, and this plays a major role in Road to the Show.

CUSTOMIZED TO PLAY: Boost the skills you need with Loadouts

Loadouts are essentially temporary skill boosts, and they'll make your Ballplayer more powerful at one specific aspect of the game.

How you choose Loadouts will depend largely on the position and playstyle you decided to use, and you'll be able to unlock more powerful boosts as you progress in the game.

Two-Way Player

This year, Road to the Show allows players to become a true two-way player in MLB The Show 21.

When you first begin Road to the Show with your custom Ballplayer, initial conversations with a decision tree for your answers will allow you to state a preference towards a position.

You'll also have the option to pursue being a true two-way player, but rest assured this decision isn't set in stone and can be changed down the line if you decide to focus on one position.
